Hemkund Sahib is a sacred Sikh Gurudwara or shrine, situated
on the foot of the Hemkund Lake, in the Himalayas at an elevation of over
15,200 ft (4,600 meters). According to prevailing folklore, the 10th Sikh Guru, Guru Govind Singh had spent many years meditating by the lake side of Hemkund Lake which is situated in Uttarakhand’s most picturesque Chamoli district.
This place rediscovered by two devout Sikhs, Sant Sohan
